How I started
Why I play? Well firstly I enjoy anything sky-fi and love gaming! When it comes down to games however the ones that stand out have to be the ones that let us make our own choices, MorrowindGÇÖs what got me hooked, the open-world go anywhere, do what you like is something that really appealed to me and its the urge for that type of gameplay that eventually hooked me into EvE online.
I found EvE online though advertisementGÇÖs on a lot of pages, I think they were doing a big campaign to bring in new players. And so I signed up for the 14 day free trial to see what it was about. I mean It wasn't exactly what I was looking for (it was more about the ship than about me) but it was as close as I was going to get, 14 days later I signed up again and eventually subbed with my character GÇ£T0mmmGÇ¥ [DOB: 03/01/2011]. This toon though, well heGÇÖs a miner, and wanting a bit more excitement other than docking up when I see a bad guy, a year later, GÇ£Korban ReedGÇ¥ was born. Since then I sold off T0mmm to a friend for a cheap price and stuck to the pew pew.
About another year or more passes, IGÇÖm shooting rats and I overhear a debate on TeamSpeak about what, GÇ£514GÇ¥ means. I investigate and come across DUST, and IGÇÖm very excited! A first person, a game where I can finally upgrade me! Another year and a bit I buy myself a PS3 and I get playing. A month later I come across a great group of guys in some corp called GÇ£The VanguardiansGÇ¥, and I stick with it.
GÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇöGÇö
Whats my position?
Dust is a game that still has a big potential to become something more than what it is now, and this will always be my first port of call. With that said we do have another game on the horizon, and while at the time of writing this Legion has not been green lit, the CPM are going to have to devote some of their time to it, itGÇÖs basically in the job description.
As a player of Dust I like to try everything, from HeavyGÇÖs and their logi counterpart, to my beloved Minja. But if I had to select that one race, I choose the Minmatar underdog, because everyone loves an underdog!
Within both games, and as many of you have pointed out on the forums the New Player Experience (NPE) is something that has to be done right in Legion and reiterated with Dust. This will be something that the CPM will be a crucial part of, as we will not only be completely new players to Legion, but be in a position of leverage. I want to work very closely with the thousands of players in the community to help create an NPE that gets the new players and keeps then playing. After all, a good NPE bringing in new players, and that helps everything from the economy to the variety of battle.
I would want to see a link between the two games, primarily (and going by what dust is capable of now) in the form lobby battles, with the option of being able to choose a lobby with Legionaries or Dust bunnies.
I am very much against any idea of Pay-2-Win. Even the option of paying for weapons to me seems unfair. Why should the player with more money be able to run without a loss even when you manage to overkill them 5 times in your starter fit. This is something that I would urge to move away from, a focus on other ways for CCP to make revenue; vanity items and suit camoGÇÖs for example have been a huge point of interest from players.
I mentioned the NPE earlier on, something that I believe would be of huge benefit to it would be a vast PvE (Player vs. Environment (Everything)) experience. A story line of sorts that guides the payer through high sec (safe area) and helps them pick up the mechanics of gameplay. People learn when their having fun, not when their getting steamrolled. PvP for the veterans on the other hand does not have to be so easy, I want areas of depravity that make the most seasoned merc think twice and game modes that truly test a teams coordination. And with a scale of difficulty in between.
How will I stay in touch?
Keeping in touch with you guys is probably the most important part of this job. ItGÇÖs due to CCP wanting the help of the community that IGÇÖm here. Some methods that IGÇÖm able to do are; In-game Squads, the Dust514 forums, Twitter and hangouts such as Skype and TS3. And if the community has other ways they wish to make contact I will strive to meet those needs, send me a mail in game to either character (preferably the EvE name) and IGÇÖll get back to you.

Why I believe I will be a suitable candidate
I think IGÇÖll be a great candidate because not only do I like the game (although it helps) but I understand what potential it has and want to see it through to that end. IGÇÖve been playing this game for a very long time and have spend almost the same amount of time on the forums, I think it shows that IGÇÖm not here for the white tag. I'm here for the game.
Im a-ámodder, I mod games-á[Inserts stratagem]-áand have an understanding of basic creation, not saying IGÇÖm an expert, however it does give me a better understanding of the makings of a game, giving me a better ability to converse with the community and the developers alike.
I have also an ability to deliver information to both the developers and the community in a structured manner and a lot of ways to get that information across, be it Skype, TS3, in game or on the forums. Or for the more in-depth stuff, spreadsheets and math!
Thanks for reading. I hope you will consider me for your vote.

You speak of what you think is important. Looking back , what have you done for the community on any issue? I ask as it is my experience that many people talk about what they will do, yet never seem to act. I certainly do not accuse you here of being complacent but I am unaware of anything you have done that might demonstrate the level of commitment to the community and the game that I feel the CPM requires.
Every game I play I am exposed to people complaining about one thing or another, and telling me how they would fix it. When I ask what they are going to do about it I get mumbles in return. By being on the CPM you are saying that you are going to be that person that takes action, but if no action has been taken in the past can I trust you will be that person of action in the future?
Thanks in advance for any time you may take to respond. Hey Judge, I love questions.
Unfortunately like most people not on the CPM I don't have many ways to express myself to the developers except through these forums.
Like you hear people in nearly every match I play complain about this mechanic or the bad lag ext. But to sum this up and give this information to the developers is a hard thing to do solely on these forums.
What I have done given what we have are things like surveys with a summing up of the results at the end. Iv also written a lot of in-depth posts about mechanics, how they may be reworked and given my input into many others which I feel are fantastic ideas. Something a CPM will have to continue to do.
I hope that helped answer your questions, and if we both get voted to be on the CPM it will be nice to work with you.

Thanks for the OP - it was a really inspiring post and i am really glad to hear some of your thoughts around the game!
I do have a couple of questions if you have the time to respond?
Your first statement that i quoted above was that your focus and primary campaign running point is that Dust 514 is still there and even has the potential to keep growing? I respect totally that this is your 'first point of call' and again wanted to acknowledge this as being a major plus point for you. My question however is do you feel CCP should continue to develop and grow Dust 514 given that Legion has not even been confirmed as 'going to happen'?
my next question is perhaps my lack of understanding so please excuse me if i have made a mistake, you mentioned the 'first port of call is Dust 514' but go on to talk about the NPE and PVE being important and central to develop. Do you mean for these concepts to be developed in Dust 514 or is this for Legion?
If its the former, how do you see CCP justifying development of multiple features across product lines?
Again sorry if i got that wrong from your OP
Looking foward to your replies
CEO Hey, thanks for taking the time to ask. With the recent shutting down of WoD and how players feel left behind with Dust, I think that CCP at the moment don't have a lot of player confidence. If they were to up and leave it would not do well for them.
There are still many things that go for this game; it's using a server that has its maintenance paid for by EvE, there are still millions of people that own a PS3 and it could "possibly" be able to use some of the assets that are created for Legion (be it more pixelated scaled down renders).
For your second question, I meant both actually! The NPE in Dust could defiantly be better and I feel should be, and in Legion we have the unique ability to help create one as new players ourselves.
With PvE I feel like its one of those things that CCP promised years ago to be apart of Dust. Not only would this go a huge way in gaining back some of that player confidence that I talked about, it would inject a considerable amount of players back into Dust.
In terms of CCP having to develop multiple features across product lines it seems a lot of the work will be done already for Legion, making the job a bit easier to implement into Dust.
While I can see Dust taking a back seat for most of it, I mean it already has. Like I said before, Dust has a huge potential to become a great game that people will still want to play.
Thanks for your time once again and feel free to ask more questions!

No worries Judge, I've also updated my secondary post if you or anyone else viewing want any information about ideas I'm behind.
Most people pronounce my name "Seven", or I go by "Reed". But I don't mind however you want to say it. Also for reference, check out how google translate says it, I'd actually say it's pretty spot on!

HI! Great reply - loved the bit quoted above especially. If i may be blunt, i would like to know some more about your feelings around the qualities needed for a CPM... My biggest fear is that we get a group of people similar to CPM0 who have little 'edge' to them and resultant end up being ineffective as they are paralyzed with fear to engage CCP head on if there is disagreement. Yes we are all nice people and try to be civil (mostly) but i find that CCP is typical of the SME culture of being 'too busy' and 'too focused' to take the required time to deal with the community and this was perhaps the main issue with CPM 0 that it wasn't able to 'be difficult' that much. So my question would be, what are your qualities as you see them that gives you the edge to fight for our community rights? an example here would be, what was the last thing you complained about in life generally (seriously no troll) for example for me, i had a coffee made for me by someone who barely understand coffee making, i had to make a public show sadly to get her to redo it. something i dont like to do but im not accepting of mistakes. you? I'm glad you liked it!
One of the main aspects a CPM member should have is an ability to filter out the great idea from the bad ones, an ability to recognise what has potential. Then be able to relay that information back to CCP so they can actively work with it.
Im aware with some important issues that the CPM and CCP are not going to see eye to eye. This is something that the CPM are going to have to work on. And especially fight on issues that we feel could damage the game and the community playing it.
Well, I don't mind any coffee if someone else is making it!! But I see what you mean. When I sorted out my sisters broadband. Long story short they where going to charge her a lot of money for something I could do with the press of three buttons, but was locked out of doing so. In the end they sent her a new router with no cost.
Now I didn't complain, but I also didn't let the matter go easily. I pressed on and got a result because I presented the facts in a reasonable manner and worked with them to sort out the problem.
Hoped that helped you,
Tom
